Wann ist der Skill hilfreich?

Nutze ihn bei offenen Standards, Protokollbibliotheken oder Interoperabilitätsfehlern.

Wobei hilft er dir?

  • Unterscheidet normative MUST-, SHOULD- und MAY-Anforderungen.
  • Prüft Zustandsmodelle anhand von Referenzimplementierungen und Grenzfällen.
  • Vergleicht Bibliotheksübernahme mit direkter Protokollimplementierung.

Das könntest du fragen

Protocol, Specification & Reference Implementation Analysis

When integrating with a standard protocol (e.g., OAuth/OIDC, WebSockets, SSE, JSON-RPC, MCP, LSP, OpenTelemetry, Git wire protocol, Webhook signatures), reading a single blog post is never enough. Combine the formal specification with battle-tested reference implementations.

Workflow

  1. Map normative requirements (MUST, SHOULD, MAY):
    • Read the primary specification (IETF RFC, W3C spec, official protocol schema) for the exact version in question.
    • Extract:
      • Message framing & encoding: Headers, content types, character encoding, delimiter rules, and maximum payload limits.
      • State machine & handshake: Connection setup, authentication/negotiation, heartbeats/keep-alives, Ordering guarantees, and graceful teardown.
      • Error & retry semantics: Standard error codes, idempotency guarantees, backoff headers (Retry-After), and partial failure handling.
  2. Compare the spec against reference implementations:
    • Real-world interoperability often depends on de facto behaviors not obvious from the prose spec. Inspect 1–2 canonical reference implementations and their conformance test suites:
      • How do they handle malformed frames, half-open connections, clock skew, or out-of-order messages?
      • Where do popular clients or servers deviate from strict spec compliance?
  3. Evaluate library vs. direct protocol implementation:
    • If the wire protocol is a simple subset over existing primitives (e.g., JSON-RPC 2.0 over stdio or HMAC-SHA256 webhook verification), a 100-line typed implementation using standard runtime crypto/streams is often safer and easier to debug than a heavy third-party SDK.
    • If the protocol has complex cryptographic, state-machine, or edge-case surface (e.g., OAuth2 PKCE/OIDC token validation, HTTP/2 framing, CRDT sync), strongly prefer a vetted, conformance-tested library.
  4. Produce a protocol integration contract:
    • Document supported protocol version(s), frame schemas, timeout/retry rules, security validations, and conformance test vectors derived from the official spec.
